Privacy Policy

Last Updated: January 15, 2025

At urbanintellinet, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you interact with our multi-year budget planning services.

We operate under Thai law, specifically complying with the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019), which came into full effect in June 2022. Your trust matters to us, and we're committed to being transparent about our data practices.

1.

Information We Collect

When you use our budget planning tools and educational resources, we collect different types of information. Some you give us directly, and some we gather automatically as you navigate our platform.

Personal Information You Provide

  • Your name, email address, and phone number when you create an account
  • Billing information and payment details for premium services
  • Budget data and financial planning information you input into our tools
  • Communication preferences and support inquiries
  • Feedback, survey responses, and any content you share with us

Information Collected Automatically

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies. Nothing sneaky — just standard web analytics to improve your experience and understand how people use our platform.

  • Device information including IP address, browser type, and operating system
  • Usage patterns such as pages visited, time spent, and feature interactions
  • Referral sources showing how you found our website
  • Location data based on IP address (country and city level only)
2.

How We Use Your Information

We're not in the business of selling your data. Everything we collect serves a specific purpose related to providing and improving our budget planning services.

Purpose Details
Service Delivery Processing your budget plans, saving your preferences, and providing personalized recommendations
Communication Sending account updates, responding to inquiries, and sharing educational content you've subscribed to
Platform Improvement Analyzing usage patterns to enhance features and fix technical issues
Security Detecting fraud, preventing unauthorized access, and protecting user accounts
Legal Compliance Meeting regulatory requirements and responding to lawful requests from authorities

We also use aggregated, anonymized data for research purposes. This means combining information from many users in a way that nobody can be individually identified. It helps us understand broader trends in budget planning behaviors.

3.

Data Sharing and Third Parties

We share your information only when necessary, and always with appropriate safeguards. Here's who might see your data and why:

Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party companies that help us run our platform. These include cloud hosting providers, payment processors, email delivery services, and analytics tools. All of these partners are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for specified purposes.

Legal Requirements

Sometimes we're legally obligated to share information — for example, responding to valid court orders or protecting against illegal activity. We review such requests carefully and only provide what's legally required.

Important: We will never sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers. That's not our business model, and it never will be.

Business Transfers

If urbanintellinet is acquired or merges with another company, your information would be transferred as part of that transaction. We'd notify you beforehand and explain any changes to how your data is handled.

4.

Your Rights Under Thai Law

Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act gives you significant control over your personal information. Here's what you can do:

  • Access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Update or fix inaccurate information in your account
  • Deletion: Ask us to delete your data, subject to legal retention requirements
  • Portability: Receive your data in a structured, commonly used format
  • Objection: Oppose certain processing activities, particularly for marketing purposes
  • Restriction: Limit how we use your data while we resolve a dispute
  • Withdrawal: Revoke consent at any time for processing based on your agreement

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@urbanintellinet.com. We'll respond within 30 days as required by Thai law. There's no fee unless your request is clearly unfounded or excessive.

If you're not satisfied with how we handle your request, you have the right to lodge a complaint with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Committee.

5.

Data Security Measures

We protect your information using industry-standard security practices. While no system is completely immune to threats, we take reasonable precautions:

  • All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.3
  • Financial information is encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption
  • Access to personal data is restricted to authorized employees who need it for their work
  • We conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Our systems are monitored 24/7 for suspicious activity
  • Staff receive ongoing training about data protection and security best practices

Your Responsibility

Security is a shared responsibility. You should use a strong, unique password for your account and never share your login credentials. Enable two-factor authentication if you want extra protection. Let us know immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

6.

Data Retention and Deletion

We don't keep your information forever. Our retention periods depend on why we collected the data and whether we're legally required to keep it.

Active Accounts

As long as your account is active, we retain the information needed to provide our services. This includes your budget data, account settings, and transaction history.

Inactive Accounts

If you haven't logged in for 24 months, we'll send you a reminder asking if you want to keep your account. Without a response, we'll delete your account and associated data within 90 days, except for information we must retain for legal reasons.

Legal and Financial Records

Thai law requires us to keep certain financial records for up to 7 years. This includes payment transaction data and tax-related information. After that period, we securely delete these records unless you've requested otherwise.

When we delete your data, it's permanently removed from our active systems and backups within 30 days. We cannot recover deleted accounts or budget plans.

7.

International Data Transfers

Our primary servers are located in Thailand, but some of our service providers operate internationally. When your data crosses borders, we ensure appropriate protections are in place.

We only transfer data to countries that Thailand's Personal Data Protection Committee recognizes as having adequate protection, or we use standard contractual clauses approved by Thai authorities. This ensures your information receives consistent protection regardless of where it's processed.

If you have concerns about specific data transfers, contact our privacy team for detailed information about safeguards we've implemented.

8.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to make our platform work properly and understand how people use it. You have control over most of these.

Essential Cookies

These are necessary for basic functionality like keeping you logged in and remembering your language preferences. You can't disable these without breaking core features.

Analytics Cookies

These help us understand which features are popular, where users encounter problems, and how we can improve the platform. We use aggregated data that doesn't identify individual users.

Preference Cookies

These remember your choices about things like display settings and notification preferences so you don't have to set them every time.

You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. Keep in mind that blocking certain cookies might affect your experience on our platform.

9.

Children's Privacy

Our services are designed for adults managing personal or household finances. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 years old.

If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately. We'll delete such information within 48 hours of verification.

Under Thai law, minors may use our services only with parental consent. If we discover that a user under 18 has created an account without proper consent, we'll suspend the account and delete their data.

10.

Changes to This Policy

We update this privacy policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The "Last Updated" date at the top shows when we made the most recent changes.

For minor updates like clarifications or contact information changes, we'll simply post the revised policy. For significant changes that affect how we use your personal information, we'll notify you by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect.

Continuing to use our services after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy. If you disagree with changes, you can close your account before they take effect.

11.

Marketing Communications

We'll send you marketing emails only if you've opted in. These might include educational content about budget planning, new feature announcements, or tips for using our platform more effectively.

Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. Click it and you won't receive promotional messages anymore — though we'll still send important account-related notifications.

We respect your communication preferences and typically send marketing emails no more than twice per month. You can also adjust your preferences in your account settings to receive only specific types of content.
